My Favorite Recipes

These are a few of my favorite recipes on this website. If you’re looking for something to make that will be delicious, this is where you’ll find it. I’ve included a short description along with a link to the actual recipe so that you can enjoy this great food for yourself.

Corn Bread Casserole

This is a great recipe that we make for most potluck type events. Another use that we found recently was putting taco ingredients on top of warm corn bread to make a delicious alternative to tacos. I would say that Corn Bread can be a great side to go with just about anything, but it can also be a wonderful dessert all by itself.

This is a great recipe to make in the summer. Every summer, my Grandparents come to Nebraska to visit. My sister and I will go out into the backyard to

harvest some fresh rhubarb and bring it in for my Grandma to make some delicious cobbler.

 Grandma Stueber’s Anise Candy

This was one of the recipes that my Great Grandma used to make. She would always make it for our family’s Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations. Now, my Dad’s Aunt Barb has taken over the tradition of making most of Great Grandma’s recipes, including the Schaum Torte that I will talk about later.

Another one of my Great Grandma’s classic recipes was her Schaum Torte. In addition to Christmas and Thanksgiving, she would make it for special events like Wedding Rehearsal Dinners. Just like the Anise Candy, Aunt Barb has taken on the tradition of making the Schaum Torte. It’s always a special treat for everyone when we get to have this great dessert.
